Our wedding ceremony will be at an elevation of about 10,000ft. Our reception will be closer to 9,000ft and even Laramie is at an elevation of 7,200ft. While this altitude is by no means inherently dangerous for anyone, there are several considerations to make at this altitude
- Stay hydrated. Your body needs more water than it does at sea level
- Go easy. Don’t be surprised if you become tired more easily.
- Alcohol also affects you differently at this altitude. The effects of alcohol will be more pronounced and affect you sooner. In short you’ll be a cheap date.
- Weather can change quickly so bring multiple layers of clothing. It will be hot in the day and brisk at night. Afternoon thunderstorms are very likely.
- The sun is much stronger at higher elevations. It’s best to protect yourself with sunscreen and a hat
